…Gulbis nopūtās, izpleta spārnus un, iekliegdamies kā citus līdzi saukdams, pacēlās gaisā…

Vakarvakarā saņēmu ziņu no Danas Jasinkevičas un Ditas Enikovas, Latvijas Mākslas Akadēmijas modes nodaļas studentēm, ka viņu veidotā papīra kleita gulbja izskatā iekļuvusi Trendhunter, vienā no populārākajām trendu vietnēm pasaulē. Pirms tam par kleitu rakstīja arī mūsu Arterritory, kā arī rinda ārzemju blogu.

Kleitu no vairāk kā 1000 papīra lapiņām dizaineres radīja nesen Galerijā Centrs apskatāmajai izstādei Baltā. Skaistā. Liktenīgā. Izstādei noslēdzoties, meitenēm palika žēl savu smalko darbu tā vienkārši izmest un radās ideja kleitai iedvest dzīvību fotosesijā ar nosaukumu Swan in Oil. Before and after. Fotogrāfiju tematika man neviļus atsauca atmiņā citu mākslas akciju, redzētu pāris dienu atpakaļ – projektu Oil & Water Do Not Mix.

Ja ne citādi, tad šai [dažu skaistuma apsēstu latviešu radītajai] fotosērijai, sociālo tīklu valodā runājot, ir īsts Pinterest un Tumblr potenciāls. Bravo.

…The swan gave a sigh, spread his wings and with a little cry as if inviting to follow him, soared up to the sky…

Last night great news reached me. The paper swan dress (seen in photos) by Latvian fashion students Dana Jasinkevica and Dita Enikova has been mentioned by Trendhunter. Earlier before the photos got reposted from blog to blog around the [internet] globe.

The dress, stitched together from over 1000 paper leaves, was made for bridal gown exhibition at the shopping center Galerija Centrs. After the exhibition got taken down, the two fashion students decided to give a life to their dress and came up with the photo project Swan in Oil. Before and after. The title reminded me of another project I saw a couple of days ago, called Oil & Water Do Not Mix (I’m telling you, watch that video!).

If nothing else the photos here have a super high Pinterest and Tumblr potential. Bravo, girls!
