Bicycle Taxidermy autors un dibinātājs ir Londonas Karaliskās mākslas koledžas students Regan Appleton. Kādā bezmiega naktī viņam radās ideja par uzticamo, bet vairs neejošo velosipēdu iemūžināšanu. Pirmie pie šī goda tika pārītis viņa tēva braucamo.

Taxidermy is the new black. We’ve seen deer heads mounted on walls in every other public and personal interior or one can buy fake (and – some say – much more ethical) taxidermy in cardboard, plastic and plush. Yet again you haven’t seen it all.

I give you Bicycle Taxidermy founded by Regan Appleton, a witty student at Royal College of Art. During one of those sleepless nights he came up with the idea for another kind of taxidermy which you can see in the pics. Regan began on a couple of memento mori for his father’s once prized but long discarded bikes.

Now Bicycle Taxidermy offers purpose made bike taxidermy from their own sourced handlebars or you can order a wooden plaque for your dear bike at home. Just be sure to ask for the bike’s name, age and maybe a little line from your favourite poem to get engraved on the plaque.
