Tam, ka savulaik tiešām mācījos Japānā, ir pierādījums. Vispār jau divi. Pirmkārt – bilde mazliet zemāk (nu, te nav ko piebilst, izņemot to, ka bildēts manā vecajā klasē 2. stāvā Hirosimas Jogakuin vidusskolā). Otrkārt – patikšana uz lietām, ko tolaik necietu ne acu galā, tostarp skolas kurpes (jo tā bija no augšas uzlikta skolas forma).

There are two things proving I once lived and studied in Japan. First, it’s that picture below (taken at my old classroom on the 2nd floor of Hiroshima Jogakuin high school). And second, my liking towards clothing and shoes I once despised so much (as it was school uniform we ALL hated back then).

This week turned out to be some kind of a video stream. This one includes chalk and furniture placement. In short – concept store Bang Bang gave me a call and invited to take part in short video. I suggested do to it on the day of shooting two pieces for upcoming issue of DEKO (ready to go to print today and then available everywhere from June 1st).

Another Bang Bang video shows painter Flera Birmane in action. She’s that same girl who opened her exhibition Wake Up just a little while ago (the exhibit is open at Galerija 21 until June 2nd).

Well, here’s long awaited full version of the interview taken by Latvian online show ‘Atrasts interneta’ (Spotted on internet). Here’s the 1st part. The hardest questions of them all? “One thing you can’t imagine yourself wearing, Agnese? Ever?” After a loooong pause all I could come up with was white patent leather over-knees stiletto boots. ‘Cause, you know, hard to ride a bike in things like that, ha ha.

Yesterday I was writing about Latvian fashion trends asked by a Lithuanian journalist and ended up bombarding her with links to Latvian labels available for sale online. Here, I give you some too. A week ago I tweeted that I’ve arrived in the paradise. If someone invites you to Bulduru flower farm, don’t say no. Just don’t. Come next summer and old mossy greenhouses will be gone along with those wooden lath panels in the lobby dating from 70′s. They say – there are brand new and glossy premisses in the building process. But right now there’s history trembling in the moist air, surrounded by radio hits coming from bruised stereo tape-recorder in the corner.

Yes, they also sell flowers there. Wholesale prices on offer.

And what was my business in this local Garden of Eden? The result of great creative team is coming soon.

Paldies Flērai par 10 lielformāta gleznām, kurām par modeli tika izvēlēta šī bloga autore. Glezna, kaut arī fotoreālistiska, tomēr nav fotogrāfija, un tā ir nudien īpatnēja pieredze – redzēt sevi uzgleznotu. Īpaši tādā japāņu šausmenītē.

Labi, bet te – reportāža no izstādes atklāšanas un tai sekojošās pēcballītes jaunajā konceptveikalā Bang Bang (kurš mani ar savu plašumu un iekārtojumu pārsteidza nesagatavotu).

The mystery has been unraveled. Now we know, who followed me in strange elevators and tiptoed after me on unknown roofs. All of it is revealed in the exhibition ‘Wake Up’ in Galerija 21 (open from tomorrow until June 2nd).

I’d like to express my gratitude to painter Flera for picking yours faithfully as model for 10 large-sized paintings. While done in the style of photo-realism, it’s still a painting and that, dear friends, is one weird feeling – to see your face painted rather than shot on camera. Especially, when the story in the paintings is more of an episode from Japanese horror movie.

OK, and here goes a little report on the opening and following afterparty in newly opened concept store Bang Bang (which took me by surprise with its spaciousness).
